Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Please help, maybe someone has encountered such a problem! The dishes, after being washed in the dishwasher, stink of dog!! Disgusting smell, but the dishes are clean and shiny. I changed the tablets, rinse aid, salt is always available. I wash the inside of the dishwasher regularly, the filter, the walls. I tried running it with baking soda and vinegar. Nothing helps (((
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Artem. How to get rid of this problem? Why do some have it and others don’t?
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Amsterdam, it may depend on the quality of the water, different regions have their own hardness and different bodies of water, treatment plants are also different)

Personally, my dishes stank when the salt was turned off. But I’m not sure if this smell was called dog, and the reason for it, again, is the lack of washing of protein scraps, especially cat food. We now feed the cats from paper plates and use two tablets in the sink (I have a full-size machine and always have the fullest load).
Set the salt setting to zero (turn it off) and switch to tablets.
If the dog is in tar, then it’s because many people have their salt supply turned off.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Earlier on the forum they wrote that reducing the salt supply affects the smell, so perhaps the truth is somewhere nearby, maybe it really has something to do with the foreign exchange resin, not in all regions you can turn off the salt supply, and not everyone likes 3 in 1 tablets, two tablets this is not an option for one wash, especially if it’s not Eco tablets, then the smell of detergent will remain on the dishes and in the pmmm, cats are on which side, there’s a smell here even without them, Esthete, I read your messages on the forum, you yourself believe it what are you writing? You should change your nickname to BORE and stop fooling around on the forum!
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I read the topic for a long time and struggled with the smell; in my case, turning off the salt helped (it was set to 1, set it to 0).
I live in St. Petersburg, the water is soft, the symptoms of the smell turned out to be such that the detergent was not washed off. I realized this after I wiped the dishes with a dry cloth and they stopped smelling.
Keep in mind that the effect will only appear after 4 washes and later.

This topic has been going on since 2016, but here they have the conscience to be indignant that someone is dividing on a general basis your own solution to the problem that works for you. What do I mean, sniff the dog.
The problem is that you are not able to digest information. I don’t need to believe it, I didn’t write anything unverifiable here.
I analyzed the composition of the products above, explaining what needs to be considered grams and percentages, and not hysteria. Moreover, I quoted the Finish brand: "You can put up to two tablets in the lower part of the machine" https://www.finish-club.ru/produkty/tab ... andartnyi/
Ahh, chemistry, we will all die!
Cats have nothing to do with it, and cat food. This is a high protein and strong smelling story (itself + flavorings). Other people here are not only complaining about the food, but about the scrambled eggs and chicken broth. Well, buy a pouch, coat the plate, wait 10 minutes, wipe off the excess and throw it in the dishwasher.

Esthete, you really drive! You always don’t have enough seeds in your watermelon!
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Esthete, what does cat food have to do with it? There are no cats! Do you buy cat food for yourself? There is a smell! Stop rubbing in the game! I don’t give a damn about the quote from the Finish brand, they write it for cotton wool, it would be better if they wrote why they make a safer composition for other countries, but those tablets don’t stink of chemicals and the composition there is half as long! Continue to reassure yourself that chemistry is harmless to the body! Continue counting your grams and percentages, you stubborn bore!

The reasons for your hysterics are in you, I didn’t give a single reason for them. If you have a specific objection to something, then google what an argument is. Calling a “boring”, writing something about “watermelon”, “you’re driving” or “chemicals are harmful” are not arguments - this is a statement that there is nothing to argue in essence.

I have three tails, which is three stinking plates at a time and from nine to twelve by the time the machine is loaded. I sincerely don’t understand what’s incredible about the fact that a dozen food dishes can make themselves felt after washing? Well, you don’t have animals, but some people do. I tried two tablets, but switched to paper plates for cats - this may also help some. You’re not the only one here.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I have always been tormented by the question of how, when using 3in1 tablets, the rinse aid from their composition survives until the final rinse, since the machine performs intermediate drains of water. It turned out that if you do not add rinse aid to the cuvette, the sensor or float turns on the 3in1 unit and the water to save the spilled tablet rinse aid is not completely drained. That is, what I wrote about earlier: the dishes are rinsed in partially waste water. So even when using tablets, I recommend adding rinse aid to reduce the likelihood of leftovers settling. The instructions briefly mention this: “As soon as you start using combined detergents, the program automatically changes in such a way that the best results are achieved.” washing and drying dishes" (copied).

HELLO!!!!We also encountered the same problem and suffered for half a year, then we started reading forums and wrote a lot that there might be a connection with open windows. We have a PVM Electrolux and after finishing the wash the door opens, if the window is open then every once in a while the dishes stink, it’s not clear how it works, but when the wash was finished we started closing the door and then there was no smell, or for example if I washed up when no one was home and the dishes were standing with When the door is open, it stinks, when I get there I just close the door and it sits for a couple of hours, the smell disappears, in short, miracles

Kvs: ↑28 Jul 2022, 23:38 Artem. How to get rid of this problem? Why do some people have this and others don’t?
and before that we tried everything, changed the hardness of the salt, put it in any way, changed 8 types of tablets and nothingbut now there is no problem and By the way, the PVM smelled like a dog even if there were no dishes, of course it’s not clear why this smell happens every once in a while and why not everyone. But the fact is that if the dishwasher is closed until the dishes are completely cooled and left after washing for a couple of hours, there is no smell
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
My stinking dog is gone. I think the reason was that the drain pipe was not high enough. I increased it almost to the height of mmm. It was somewhere up to half the height. Since then there has been no smell. In addition to this, I also reduced the water hardness by one unit - it became 2, it was 3 out of 7. and the rinse aid - it was 4 and put it at 3, out of 6. But I don’t think that this is what affected it. I’m inclined to think that the problem was in the drain. After I tried draining into a bucket and saw how much water was drained in a short period of time, I realized that the drain simply couldn’t handle it. Because of this, some of the dirty water remains in the car. Maybe it will help someone. Try it.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
In general, gentlemen, after the next water outage in the house, I encountered the same problem that is described here - an incomprehensible smell from the dishes... some kind of stench... very reminiscent of a dog. And yes, with the windows open it feels much stronger. Of course, I went online - I read all 7 pages of this forum and a bunch of other sites - they offer different options: from "no big deal, the dishes are clean, they even squeak" to "close the windows and you will be happy". As for me, this is not a solution. The new soap washer with both open and closed windows and everything was great. What should make life easier and improve its quality should not complicate it.
What was done:
1. Rinse the sink with a special finishing agent - there is no effect, and the smell of chemicals has become stronger - money and time are wasted. Washing with soda (folk methods) is the same nonsense - no effect, transfer of soda, water and electricity. Repeated launch with different tablets/powders/gels at high temperature mode (70 degrees, no more) is also a transfer of resources, there is no effect.
2. Reduce the salt to 0. I even measured the water hardness with a special device - in theory there was no need to reduce it - the factory setting is optimal, but I had to try it, because people write that it seems to help. The result is that it helps, but not for long and does not completely remove the smell.
3. Bad water? I installed a main filter with a replaceable cartridge in front of the sink - zero effect
4. Dismantling the dishwasher and disassembling it yourself with washing all components and hoses. Done - nothing suspicious was found in the hoses, pipes, or filters. The drain is also clean. I redid the drain with a loop, as it should be (before that it was wrong, there was no big loop - I fixed it)
5. I checked the drain check valve - everything is ok, it holds. The machine is a little over a year old, its elasticity is intact.
6, Did the dishes stink? "Micropores in the glass and microcracks, where the harmful stench has penetrated and is not washed out". Laminarc dishes. I tried to wash other dishes (Soviet) - it stinks.
Let’s dig further...
I’m not an expert in repairing equipment, I don’t have a specialized education. I just like to understand technology and fix what I can.
We begin to analyze the situation: the smell appeared after the water was turned off. The water passes through the filter, the water is supposedly clean. The smell goes away if you turn off the salt. The machine was all washed with chemicals, and then disassembled and washed by hand, but the smell is still there... What if it’s the ionizer? The same salt bunker under the machine, which is not dismountable and cannot be washed. After the water is turned off, when the supply is turned on, the water flies under pressure through our Soviet pipes and tears off from the walls everything that has accumulated there over the years and decades: algae, rust and other horrors, then all this stuff flies into the ionizer and... that’s all . Then all this nasty stuff settles there, because there is no pressure there - it’s impossible to wash this thing, it’s not removable (you can put it on a collective farm, drill a hole - pour out the resin, rinse it and then seal the collective farm - not my option). Washing cycles and temperature have no effect on this barrel. But when we turn off the salt, water, in theory, stops actively pumping through the ion exchanger - so at first it seems to people that there is no smell. After some time, water still comes in, but in smaller quantities, but it passes through this tank and absorbs all this crap from the ion exchanger. Let’s look at the price of this tank - 8,000 rubles. Not a little... but I also don’t want to eat from dishes that smell like either a dog or some kind of ass. Yes, and replacing the dishes will not improve the situation (verified). We order a new ionizer (a tank with a new ion exchange resin). 8 days of waiting. And here he is at home. We take the sink out of the kitchen again, disassemble it, and install a new ion exchanger. We cross the sink and put it back. We start the cycle, wait for it to finish, open it - clean, odorless dishes. There is no smell. It doesn’t smell like dog anymore. After 3 months of struggle, the stench receded and the era of clean dishes has arrived.
Summary: if there is no main filter in front of the sink and gunk gets into the ion exchanger, it is unlikely that you will be able to get it out/wash it. We change the ion exchanger (it is also called a salt bunker, a softener), put a filter in front of the sink - eat from clean dishes and enjoy life.
P.S.: this is my opinion, it may not be the only correct one. I don’t get into meaningless arguments. I just posted my story and solution. It’s great if I could help some of you. All the best

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
mihanikus2012, They changed my ion exchanger. The smell did not go away. I even deleted my local post about this so as not to confuse anyone. This was done by a Bosch specialist under warranty. He was very skeptical about the idea, but I was convincing, since there are indeed complaints about the smell of resins in stores. By the way, there is a strange legend that soft water does not wash well - the less hardness, the better the solubility. Actually, the ion exchanger has exactly this task. Test it for a while and report back - I wonder if the dog will come back.
I solved my problem and am now in the process of testing. Maybe I’ll write later, or maybe not - the local idiots want to sniff the dog for as long as possible and so that no one interferes with their enjoyment.

Some time has passed and now there is no smell. But there is also a downside - it’s colder outside. The windows are periodically open, but it is still difficult to understand whether the dog has completely left or not. We’ll keep watching. It’s interesting to know your way of fighting - write in a PM so as not to provoke the local audience.
Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I also had a similar situation. But thank God I managed. At each wash, in addition to the washing tablet, I poured half a cup of vinegar directly into the dishwasher. And I did this for about 3 days. I use it 3 times during the day (we have a large family). After 3 days there is no smell or plaque on the walls of the car. Even the lower part began to sparkle. Now I do this every 3rd week.

NO Dishwasher. I wash glasses by hand. I tried everything until it boiled. There doesn’t seem to be any smell, but on the third glass (of vodka) it smells like a terrible dog

I’m crazy and went the furthest: I changed the ion exchanger, changed a bunch of products, tried different dosages, connected umm to osmosis, bought a new cool umm etc.
nNo method works. Because it’s not about dishwashers. It cannot be that all over the world, different brands and models of dishwashers with different products have the same problem.
I noticed that dishes only stink when it rains or after it rains. Or, if it rains somewhere in the region, even if it’s still dry here.
This may be due to the substance geosmin from the street. Google geosmin and rain. Chemists, however, say that this is nonsense. But they don’t offer a better explanation. Just do tests. It’s expensive and what’s the point? It is impossible to abandon the atmosphere of planet Earth.
Well, not necessarily, geosmin. The rain lifts something from the ground with the impact of drops and the wind carries it through the open windows into apartments. Some kind of reaction occurs in the presence of microcomponents of the product, microparticles of proteins and glass, ceramics, etc. Plastic never stinks.
Dog intensifies if there are a lot of leftover protein foods, such as eggs, on the dishes.

What do you think about the rain? Have you noticed such a coincidence? Do you constantly smell? Accordingly, replacing the ion exchanger did not help, it turns out?

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I read the topic. I’ll share my experience, my car is 2013. I always wash at 70 degrees, well, sometimes very rarely 30 minutes at 65 degrees. For prevention, once every 2 months I pour a full tray of “mole” at 70 degrees. Although there is not necessarily any smell. For a washing machine, 60-80 grams of citric acid and 95 degrees once every 1-1.5 months. Do a poll on the topic of who washes in what mode, the lion’s share washes in economy mode; if you use a calculator, the savings are not very noticeable. The 20 year old Bosch had only 2 programs: 65 degrees glass and 65 degrees main wash. Here’s another thing: I put the dishes in the machine immediately before washing, and under no circumstances use the rinse mode. Alkali "mole" dissolves any fats, it should be without any additives. Pure caustic sodium without aluminum and everything else, well, the cheapest. It is harmless to the machine, the EPDM rubber from which everything in it is made perfectly tolerates almost any alkali. Your detergent is also alkaline. Wash the output at 70 degrees and everything will be fine. Well, at least try one week.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
My new PMM can add temperature to both washing and rinsing in an already 70-degree wash. When it stinks, it stinks in any mode.
The dishes are always perfectly clean, even in eco mode.
It’s not about dirty dishes. Otherwise it would stink every time, and the dog appears only sometimes and suddenly disappears. This is confusing because it is difficult to understand under what conditions it happens. That’s why there are so many different versions of the topic. I myself made a lot of erroneous assumptions because of this. You dig deeper and think that this is what helped, and then the dog comes back.
My farthest-reaching experiments showed that neither PMM nor water had anything to do with it. I am 100% sure of this! In addition, this smell can sometimes be smelled outside during or after rain. And if you Google it, there are a lot of people with a dog on the dishes and no dishwashers.
There is no point in using such aggressive chemistry in PMM (Mole, etc.).
By the way, it hasn’t stank for a couple of months now, both in the rain and after. But for the first time I felt a dog at the beginning of spring. A break until warming, apparently.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
It looks like I understand what’s going on and what the rain has to do with it.
The shampoo used to wash the streets stinks. And streets are usually washed when it’s raining - this way, less water is consumed and work efficiency increases.
My hypothesis explains why it stinks only when the windows are open and mainly in the warm season, because in winter the roads are not washed to avoid ice .
The shampoo used to wash the streets stinks. And streets are usually washed when it’s raining - this way, less water is consumed and work efficiency increases.
This chemical then rises as a suspension into the air and spreads by atmosphere. I don’t know what explains it, but some kind of physics or chemistry is happening: in the presence of a suspension on glass-ceramic surfaces (stainless steel, etc., except plastics), its smell begins to be felt. This applies not only to dishes, but also to floor tiles, for example, etc.As they explained to us about rain, it helps soften the dust and nail down the dirt, which is then driven in a stream to the curb, from where a large “vacuum cleaner” sucks up all the dirt (soil and clay from dachas, flower beds, lawns and construction sites), all cigarette butts, cans and other debris. Rain is an ideal assistant for this. It’s like pre-soaking a frying pan in water before you start washing it from traces of frying beef cutlets.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I live in Voronezh and I can’t download that we often wash streets.... I know that they are washed, but I see it more sporadically than systematically. And the dishes smell every time you open the window. I live in a residential area.... the road that can be washed is located about 150 meters in a straight line. And in theory, taking into account the allowance for the ever-frugal utility workers - if there is some kind of remedy, there are crumbs of it and it should very quickly dissipate in the atmosphere almost without a trace... I see it this way, I’m not a chemist and I could be wrong.
As for washing the car, I almost always drive it at 70 degrees. I use the machine every day or skip one day, then every day. The door opens automatically at the end of the cycle - the heat radiates from there like from an oven. Everything sparkles inside. The dishes are creaking - I don’t see the point in using any more vigorous chemicals - what needs to be washed there? And the car is actually a little more than 2 years old. When disassembling it, I sniffed it all over - there was no smell from anywhere. This is some kind of chemistry... Something reacts with something and this stink is created. You close the window before eating - there is no stink.
I mean, in order to "eat deliciously" - we close the windows, eat, and then you can ventilate. So far there are no negative temperatures outside. I’ll see what happens in the winter... but overall it’s some kind of wild game. It is not yet clear in which direction to dig..
Sent after 11 minutes 9 seconds:
I conducted another experiment 5 minutes ago. Dinner. The windows are closed, there is food on the plates (Laminarc). No foreign smell - just the delicious smell of food. Everything is eaten - we smell the plate - the smell of food and nothing else. I go out onto the balcony - open the window - hang the plate out on the street at arm’s length, for about 20 seconds - I sniff, the dog is back.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I’m in a completely different country now. I wash dishes by hand. I had already forgotten the smell, but yesterday I was chatting on the phone by the window and drinking coffee, and suddenly I smelled a dog.
While I was carrying the glass into the kitchen deeper into the apartment, it stopped stinking. I washed several glasses with effort. There is literally zero smell. I brought it to the window and it stank. He took it away from the window - they stopped.
But the PMM house, they say, hasn’t stank for a long time. Neither in rain nor in clear weather. Smaller windows are open, but we don’t close the ones that are open.
Our cars are in perfect order. At the exit from the PMM, the dishes cannot be dirty if the machine is objectively in good working order and the cycle goes through and through. Floor tiles can also stink, someone’s glass table stinks, etc.
Some kind of reaction is happening with something from the atmosphere.
nI admit that this time I am wrong with the hypothesis. However, it ties in a lot of what is known on the topic.
On the other hand, you write that they don’t bother with cleaning the streets. However, I have not yet come across information about dogs in private houses outside the city, where the streets are not washed at all.

A little offtopic.
You have probably talked about the topic of dogs with other people. What do you think about typical reactions and how do you react yourself? On the Internet they are not at all shy about expressing “skepticism”: try Googling questions/answers on mail.ru, for example.
Nobody believes that these tricks with dishes and windows are real. Most people don’t feel or notice the dog, and maybe don’t encounter it at all. Have you felt a dog at a party or in a cafe?
Well, does everyone in your household feel a dog?

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
I live in an apartment in a 17-story building. Only my wife lives with me. She didn’t pay attention to it at first. And when I said that the dishes smelled, she said that why smell them - they were definitely clean, they already creaked. I assume that everyone has a different level of smell, but when I smell the dishes with the window open and then pass it on to her, she also says that it stinks. From time to time there are guests in the apartment - I try not to open the windows. Dumb. There is a lot of good food on the table and an accidental odor from the plates can ruin the whole feast. On the other hand, doubts arise as to how safe it is to eat from such dishes if they smell. It is not for nothing that nature has endowed a person with a sense of smell, and the fact that it smells unpleasant is most likely of no benefit.
The fact that things from the washing machine do not smell will also remain a mystery. The water in the shower does not smell. The water from the kettle does not smell (before/after boiling). Only dishes. Only glass. There is no smell from the plastic.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Thank you. Well, I’ve already written many times that it’s not a matter of water or PMM.
Both floor tiles and glass tables can stink.
I wrote that I changed mmm and my new one never knew tap water, but was fed only by osmosis. I don’t know how else you can get rid of the accusations. This is not water.
Buy yourself a couple of new glasses and wash them by hand and weather them. You will forget to think about mmm as a reason.
This is some kind of reaction of glass/ceramics with something from the atmosphere. The glaze of ceramics is the same as glass. Plastic is not glass and therefore does not react. Stainless steel can also stink, by the way, but I can’t say 100% that it’s due to weathering and not washing together with the glass.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
The experiment continues - I repeated the same thing I did yesterday: dinner - mashed potatoes, chicken with cheese (sort of like the same proteins we were talking about). Glass with Baikal. Stainless steel fork All these dishes are 100% washed in PMM daily. Everything is eaten - we chaff the fork - there is no smell. We air the stacks - there is no smell. We air the plate - there is no smell.
Note: it’s minus 1 degree outside. All dishes are cold after eating.
Let’s try to change the condition: take a cooled plate with leftover food and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. We warmed it up, aired it for 20 seconds on the balcony - there was no smell.
We go further, heat the plate for 2 minutes. You can’t handle the plate with your bare hands - put on a mitten - air it for 20 seconds - no smell
What a f*** is this?
I assume that the weather did its job - it’s minus outside, the dog froze and went to warm weather. But the problem remains unresolved.

I read the article and watched the video: vinegar and eggs again. It’s all nonsense. In addition, vinegar will kill rubber seals over time. There are no bacteria in PMM if you wash at 60-70 degrees, I’m not talking about alkali tablets.
Buy one new glass tumbler and a bottle of water. On the day when you feel the dog, manually wash a new glass with bottled water and you will realize that it also stinks.
Even in this thread, people with a dog, but without PMM, were noted.

It smells because the enzymes contained in dishwashers (they break down fats) give off such an odor; in general, the greasy the dishes, the stronger the smell.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
No. If this were the reason, it would stink after every cycle. A couple of posts ago, a colleague described an experiment that he repeated in the cold season and could not reproduce the smell (apparently, such a smell does not exist in winter). It stinks 100% when it reacts with a certain substance from the atmosphere that gets onto the dishes through open windows. Moreover, neither the substance from the street nor what reacts with it is known (micro-residues of detergents, perhaps), and individually they do not smell of anything.Air Shower: ↑18 Jan 2023, 01:43 It smells due to the fact that enzymes contained in dishwashers (they break down fats) they emit such an odor, in general, the greasy the dishes, the stronger the smell.

Found!! It’s aluminum after all!!
Look at the rivets of your knives!! They are made of aluminum and they are rough because they are corroded!

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Our dishes always smell like dog after eating an egg-based meal, if you wash them and leave them to dry with the window open.
It doesn’t matter what kind of food (omelet, scrambled eggs, just a beaten egg.
When we start eating such food, we always close the window.
It smells a little less often after eggs if the window is closed.
To eliminate the smell, just wash such a clean but smelly plate with fairies and that’s it.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
The main filters need to be changed. We bought 8 new filters at once. We changed it for the first time, the smell of dog appeared first when washing the belly. I tried everything. We bought new clothes, washed them, and they smelled like dog. We replaced the filters with new ones (out of these 8 pieces). Did not help. All the laundry began to stink. Then he switched to dishes, but only ceramic and glass. There was no smell from the plastic.
It became clear that the problem was not in the machine, but in the water.
We didn’t find anything by trial and error. And then they began to remember the chronology of events, and remembered that they had bought new filter cartridges. Changed it. The stink is gone!

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
The rinse aid helped me, the smell disappeared immediately, i.e. The machine is filled with salt, a tablet and dish rinse aid.
I also washed the dishes, I smelled raw eggs and detergent. It worked the first time with the rinse aid.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
It is interesting that the problem is not new, but there is still no explanation. I also have this problem, it always stinks with different intensity, I haven’t changed the settings. The smell was present immediately after installing the new PPM. There is also a smell in the room where the PPM itself is located, even during the washing process. Thanks to everyone who experimented and unsubscribed to protect steelheads from this. As I understand it, you just need to put up with it for now until someone finds a solution on purpose or by accident

I’ve been struggling with this problem for 5-6 years now. In different apartments, with different chemistry and in different PMM. While I’m losing

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Hi all.
It looks like I found the problem and a working solution.
This smell has a name in Arabic " zankha": https://www.reddit.com/r/lebanon/comments/tl4ro7/zankha/ . People complain that in their culture the smell is familiar to everyone, but in the rest of the world almost no one simply feels it, and therefore there is no noun name.
The topic on Reddit hit the floor with zankha thousands of comments: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cooking/comments/z2jxq4/please_help_my_partner_is_constantly_complaining/ . Most note the participation of eggs. I confirm that "egg" dishes (after beating, frying, boiling and eating) give off a strong odor to itself and everything else washed with it (except plastic).
Based on this topic An article was published on the New York Post: https://nypost.com/2022/11/24/the-rancid-food-odor-thats-dividing-the-internet/. By the way, check out the typical objections there in the comments: "brush your teeth", "clean the filter", "sorry, but this is impossible", "smells your breath", "change rags", " wash by hand."

When food proteins are broken down, amino acids and a small amount of short peptides are formed, one of which is cysteine.
https://www.dirsalona.ru/article/251 -biozavivka-volos
Cysteine is used in one of the hair curling technologies in cosmetology. Clients complain about the smell of dog in their hair, especially in humid weather. I already left a video in this thread with the same complaint from a girl https://youtu.be/9P_tjl94ZjA
https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki /Cysteine
The chicken egg is the richest in cysteine among typical foods on plates, followed by pork and chicken. Pork, for obvious reasons, did not participate in that topic on Reddit, but chicken is in second place after eggs in terms of citations there.
My theory.
I assume that, regardless of the method of household washing, a small but sufficient amount of surfactants and protein micro-particles and/or cysteine are deposited on the surface of ceramic, glass and other dishes (except plastic) in its purest form. What is absorbed is not removed by repeated or manual washing, and the power of influence, beliefs, conspiracies and even a great desire do not affect this. The chemists say everything correctly: “Clean glass is glass washed with a chrome mixture,” but they don’t wash dishes like that at home! In a draft from the street (a mandatory condition), this micrococktail continues to “wash” in moisture from the air (break down proteins) and emits the smell of reaction products, including cysteine.
Most people are insensitive to the smell of cysteine (I, apparently, also did not smell it until a certain age for some reason). Moreover, communication on this topic may begin to take a passive-aggressive form, but that’s probably for another forum.
Solution.
The odor is removed by the inexpensive and safe substance sodium saltdichloroisocyanuric acid: https://www.ozon.ru/product/hlornye-tabletki-dlya-dezinfektsii-vody-hlortab-5-20-sht-829626987/ ( one tablet for 5 liters of water, there is a smaller option for 1 liter of water)
I took five plates with the smell, soaked a couple in a box with one five-liter tablet for half an hour, rinsed and sniffed. Three continued to stink, the two treated ones did not smell of anything.
Before this, I managed to find good Russian powders with phosphates in the composition, without enzymes and flavors. They washed surprisingly well, but still didn’t remove the smell (when it was noticeable).
There is a problem.
Chlorine in certain concentrations poses a health hazard and contributes to the corrosion of metals. We need to talk to chemists about safe use in PMM. I’ll write back later. But if you’re not too lazy to soak the dishes in portions in plastic containers, then use only according to the manufacturer’s instructions. There are ready-made chlorine-containing dishwashing detergents for washing dishes manually and in PMM. But I’m not sure that PMM will live with them as long as at the conditional Finish.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed
Hello everyone!
I have a super-budget dishwasher HYUNDAI DT403, before that I had compact Boches, I had the same problem with the dog.
The peculiarity of my dishwasher is the absence compartment for salt. That is, it simply doesn’t exist
I personally consider this a plus, because in St. Petersburg we have soft water, and my previous experiments with using salt in the dishwasher ended in various stains on the dishes - that’s rust, then it’s not clear at all...
Now let’s get back to my dog.
I experimented with a bunch of detergents.
Here’s what happens:
n1. If you use any products other than Somat Excellence or Fairy Platinum capsules, the dishes stink of dog. It stinks especially nauseatingly when using products with the word "eco" in the name.
2. If you use Somat Excellence or Fairy Platinum capsules, the dishes are slippery to the touch. But there is no stink! Obviously, the product does not rinse out completely.
I wash it only on the longest cycle (for me it is 2 hours 40 minutes, temp. 60 degrees).
nMy hypothesis:
10 liters of water stated in the instructions for the entire cycle is absolutely not enough to properly wash the dishes. Probably, all dishwashers have this problem.
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’s \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
In general, I suspect that less "vigorous" products also partially remain on the dishes.
Possible solutions that I am going to try:
1. After the main wash, turn on a short additional wash (since there is no additional rinse in the machine).
2. Look for a dishwasher with maximum water consumption per cycle.
I would be interested in your opinion, who has noticed the same pattern when using products.
