 what about the salt?

Help!!! The salt indicator came on. We fell asleep and turned it on. Salt deposits, you have to rinse 10 times. Over the past 2 weeks, we’ve already fallen asleep 3 times!!!! packs of salt, but the result is the same - after the first wash the indicator lights up again and until the salt is washed out of the machine, a white residue remains. Maybe I shouldn’t bother anymore - wash out all the salt and work on just the tablets? The machine has been in intensive use for 8 years now.

I think that the seal of the ion exchanger salt reservoir is broken, and liquids flow freely from compartment to compartment. This means there is no point in adding more salt. Use tablets or powder only.

Thanks, wash tablets or salt tablets? I really don’t know if there are any. The white coating persists when using different types of tablets, I read that this is due to hard water (((

Do you add mouthwash?

Thank you, mouthwash doesn’t help. Yesterday my husband diluted salt in water and added it when washing, it seemed to work. While we’re at it, we’ll call a repairman as soon as possible.

taniki: We will call a technician as soon as possible.
Eight years is a long time for a dishwasher. If the problem is corrosion, then there is hardly any point in repairing it; it’s easier to buy a new one.

Why is there water in the salt compartment? Is this necessary or is there something wrong?

Do you see water when you unscrew the neck cap to add salt? That’s where the water should be, brine to be more precise.

Look at what could be the reasons http://posudomojki.ru/viewtopic .php?f=21&t=193, but your ion exchanger most likely has failed, judging by the age of the dishwasher
