It leaks without the lower sprinkler.

Maybe your seal doesn’t fit tightly and allows steam to pass through during the drying cycle? if the hinges are worn out, then a backlash usually appears, and there is also a spring in the door, a cable is frayed in the spring, through which the pressing force of the spring is transmitted when the door is closed, it also holds the door when opening and does not allow it to fall down, if the spring weakens there will be a gap.
