Dishes smell like dog after being washed

Post by Tatiana »

Please help, maybe someone has encountered such a problem! The dishes, after being washed in the dishwasher, stink of dog!! Disgusting smell, but the dishes are clean and shiny. I changed the tablets, rinse aid, salt is always available. I wash the inside of the dishwasher regularly, the filter, the walls. I tried running it with baking soda and vinegar. Nothing helps (((

I have exactly the same problem. The dishes smell like dog, and every once in a while. Car care is excellent, special products, ventilation, filter cleaning. The smell still appears. When I eat in cafes and restaurants, I notice that the dishes there have the same nasty smell, I immediately understand that they have a dishwasher. Of course, the dishes do not smell in all restaurants, but I noticed this problem. At home, the only thing that helped me was hand rinsing the dishes; I don’t see the point in covering up the smell with flavoring, it’s not a solution to the problem.

People. Help with advice. Whatever I did. Dishwasher Siemens SR655X20MR. The dishes and dishwasher stink. The water temperature according to the NIILP test is 13 degrees. The water itself does not stink. Salt is at 0. Finish Quantum and Fairy Platinum tablets. Finish doesn’t want to wash the pots at all, leaving blue stains on the bottom, Fairy washes them with a bang. But there is always a smell. And not every time. Mine is like this: The PMM has worked, it stays closed for 10 minutes, I open it, it stays for another 10 minutes. Then I take out the dishes. I put it in the closet. It doesn’t matter for what duration, 1 hour or 3 hours, the dishes are washed perfectly. But the dishes sometimes smell, sometimes they don’t. When using Finish, the rinse aid is set to 1, with Fairy 2. And all this with the window closed. If you open the window to let fresh air in, the smell makes you feel sick. The smell is always the same. Doesn’t smell like sewer. It feels like the chemicals are not washed off from the insides of the PMM and dishes. Salt is present, it was at first Finish, I read that there is a smell from it, we changed it to BioMio, the effect is the same. Rinse aid Finish. The most interesting thing is that when the PMM was installed almost a year ago, there was no smell of any kind, even if the settings were incorrect. Then it appeared, and now I’ve been trying to overcome it for almost a YEAR. I washed it many times with the Finish rinse, it became a pungent smell of chemicals for a while and that’s it. If you run an empty one with a tablet, there is 0 effect. It still smells the same.

Hi all. I’m with you. I live in Ivanovo, my car is Hyundai. Used it at most 5 times. The smell is terrible. Precisely dogs (I know what I’m talking about, I have a dog myself). And I only notice it from the glass... Tomorrow I will change the salt settings. I’ll unsubscribe.

What was the reason and how was it eliminated? I have Bosch this song started last summer. They thought it was because of the heat. Now, when it’s damp outside and we open the window to ventilate, there’s also an immediate smell from the dishwasher and the dishes stink. You have to rinse everything by hand after every wash.

Yes, there is nothing secret, as it turned out, I personally had rotten water in the salt bunker, maybe the water is bad, maybe because I’ve been using 3 in 1 tablets lately, I set the salt level to 0 in the salt settings and didn’t add salt, that’s the water there and spoiled, it’s possible that the salt is like that or maybe it absorbed something, in general I still don’t understand, but as I understand it, all these aromas from the salt bunker remained somewhere inside, perhaps even accumulated in the foreign exchange resin, and then with clean water when during rinsing, all this went into the washing chamber, by the way, someone in a forum thread wrote that reducing the salt level in the settings solved the odor problem, maybe this is due to the fact that regeneration occurs less often and aromas do not escape into the washing chamber? In general, I removed all the water from the salt compartment, poured almost the entire pack of salt there. Finish, to capacity, set the hardness level of water and rinse aid to maximum, washed the entire PMM inside with a cloth with dishwashing detergent by hand, then ran a idle wash with a tablet on maximum temperature, then I set the rinse aid as usual, for me at 4, I left the salt at the maximum level so that there would be regeneration more often and everything would be washed, it helped me personally, the smell has gone away for almost two weeks, if anyone is interested I use only organic products with a good composition, no chemicals, since there are two small children in the house.

I washed 4 times today at Max temperature for 1 hour. To no avail. There is still a smell in the PMM. I washed it with a Finish Quantum tablet, salt at 7 (max), rinse aid at 0. It’s not difficult for me, I’ll run it a couple more times. But it seems to me that nothing changes. Unfortunately.

there is logic here. The fact that you didn’t have salt in the tank. But in my case there is, and it has been there from the very beginning. There was a finish line, they thought it was because of it, then BioMio was poured there. Nothing has changed. So I ran it 5 times for 1 hour without dishes with a tablet. It’s just that if this problem is really connected with salt, that it gives off this stench, then it turns out to be a vicious circle. Since in my case, using 3in1 tablets is pointless. Now it turns out that I’ll wash it out of the tank, I’ll have to refill it, it should be there. And when washing dishes with tablets, I will again set the salt to 0. And if my smell disappears at the moment (provided that I wash it out of the tank), then over time it will appear again, due to the fact that it will again stagnate there.

Well, it is logical that it is not washed off, since the salt It’s at maximum, and my water is soft. And it turns out super soft, and it’s unlikely to wash off. What is the salt and rinse aid setting? The 5th wash cycle just ended. And the smell is still there. Water according to NIILP test 13.

This is average water hardness, soft is less than 8 dH, the water in the PMM Bosch washing chamber is 7 dH, provided that the water hardness level settings are turned on, and provided that the water in the main is higher than these values, so you will not have super soft water at 13 dH

the thing is that I launched the PMM with salt at 7 (max) and with a tablet. It also contains salt to soften the water, I don’t remember how hard it is possible not to set the salt to, but at 13 degrees, you definitely don’t need salt from PMM, there’s enough in the tablet. Therefore, the water turned out to be Tablet + salt to the maximum, which is why I said it was super soft.

The 3 in 1 tablet does not soften water, the chemical components included in the 3 in 1 detergent bind calcium and magnesium ions, preventing them from precipitating and nothing more! If there was real salt in the tablets, then rust would be inevitable!

Then what is the solution? It turns out that with 3in1 tablets you have to add salt in any case? Then why do manufacturers write that it is not necessary up to certain degrees? Again, I repeat until I don’t remember. Then at 13 degrees, should it be set as indicated in the table? Or more/less?

Manufacturers write that 3 in 1 tablets work with water hardness up to 21 dH, but do not forget that after the main wash you have 2-3 more rinses at 67 ° C, logically, all components of the 3 in 1 tablet will already be washed down the drain after the main wash , and if your water hardness settings are set to 0, then the water for these 2-3 rinses will bypass the foreign exchanger, and at 67 ° C and with water of even medium hardness this is no longer good for the PMM and dishes, there may be a white coating and divorces.

There are no plaques or streaks of any kind. And it turns out, according to your words, you need to set the level of salt and rinse aid according to the table? At my temperature of 13 degrees, according to the table I need to set it to 4 out of 7. And return the rinse aid to 4, as set from the factory?

Oh how!!! Did not know. I just don’t have a 2-hour wash. There is Eco at 3.30. But as I understand it, you can install VarioSpeed, and it will be reduced to 1.30. So it is possible? It’s just that if you put it on a car, the PMM generally washes for 30-40 minutes. And 3.30 is a very long time.

Re: Dishes smell like dog after being washed

Any short washing cycles are not good, in a short time the machine simply does not have time to completely dissolve the tablet even at high temperatures, and as a rule, when rinsing you are left with residues of detergents, you yourself wrote that blue stains remain on the pots and now you write that no, here you have the remains of detergent, add rinse aid and here they are: musty aromas! Inside the PMM, all this collects over time in all corners and a smell appears. For example, 3-in-1 detergents are generally not suitable for short washes. Now, regarding water hardness, if you use ordinary detergents, then at 13 dH salt is required, if phosphate-free or eco 3 in 1, then for example, with a water hardness of 12 dH without salt, a slight residue from the water remains, I already wrote above that it is possible after 2- 3 rinses, turn on salt, everything is perfectly transparent With the usual 3 in 1, there are no short washing cycles, for short programs there is gel and powder, salt, depending on the quality of the wash and the possibility of your PMM. As for the rinse aid, it’s only an eye thing, a lack of it means wet dishes and stains, an overdose means a rainbow film, soapy dishes and a smell of chemicals or a musty smell. A short washing cycle is from 15 minutes to 1.5 hours.

That is, as I understand it. You need to put 4 and 4 salt and rinse aid, and in my case wash only at 3.30, ECO mode. With Finish Quantum Ultimate 3in1 tablets. And over time this smell should disappear.

I read somewhere that the finish salt smells, I’m already happily waiting for it to run out so I can replace it, but here they write that with other salts there is also a smell. *x)
Now it so happens that water is poured instead of rinse aid (one smart guy on YouTube advised washing the rinse aid hopper when it runs out, but the fact that liquid cannot be drained from this hopper, he doesn’t said...)
In general, there is almost always a smell of dog.
Salt, minimum or maximum smell.
Temperature minimum-maximum smell.
Long-short program , there is a smell.
A lot or a little detergent (gel or powder finish) there is a smell.
Rinse aid, a lot, a little, no - there is a smell.
There is no water in the salt bin smells. I wash the filter.
So I don’t see a solution yet.
