Steam comes out of the dishwasher and damages the countertop and façade. ⇐ General questions about dishwashers
Steam comes out of the dishwasher and damages the countertop and façade.
Good afternoon A question. We bought a Lex dishwasher and had a kitchen assembler do the installation. I installed it with a plank on top, citing the fact that the height of the legs was not enough to install it correctly. The problem is that during the operation of the PMM, steam comes out and at first this plank swelled on one edge (it was replaced with a piece of the table top), now the façade itself and the side wall, and most importantly the table top, swelled. The master claims that he installed everything correctly. The problem is PMM. Please tell me, is this so?

Re: Steam comes out of the dishwasher and ruins the countertop and façade
It is logical that steam comes out of the dishwasher, and accordingly it spoils the furniture made of chipboard, this must be taken into account when choosing a kitchen... There is a special steam protection for the countertop, look on the Internet.

Thank you very much for the answer. It is clear that the tabletop needs to be protected with a plank or film; we just have to find one. But these are minor things. But when the façade and the adjacent wall suffer, and the kitchen is only a month old, is something wrong here?! And condensation shouldn’t accumulate like that; you can’t cover the entire kitchen with film and strips.

Either, do not open the door immediately after the wash cycle (let it cool) or close the door immediately after unloading the dishes
Re: Steam comes out of the dishwasher and ruins the countertop and façade
Hello, I also have a Lex 4573 dishwasher. I am already on my third one under warranty. On the first one everything was fine; there was no film on top; no water accumulated. On the second and third (which is now), the installer pasted a protective film on the facade (it was included) and now drops form there and spoil the kitchen. We conducted an experiment - we pulled it out, turned it on, I put paper on top, then more rags on top and everything was DRY!!! But when I put this film on top, drops immediately formed and everything became wet. The problem is not with the installation. Now I want to remove this film and that’s it. But I don’t know if condensation should accumulate on the protective film? Or should this not be the case? What did you decide with your dishwasher? Answer please.

When they replace the tenth under warranty, you may begin to suspect something and return the money!

Judging by the photo, the dishwasher has some kind of seals on the sides, but there is nothing on top at all, and on the door too.
You need to find suitable seals and glue them on.

Ksenia, paper and, especially, a rag simply absorb steam (so drops are not visible), but film does not .

Please tell me how you solved the problem with steam - I have exactly the same situation.

Matrix, how did you decide?

Buy metalized adhesive tape from a construction store and stick it on the bottom of the tabletop, it’s been around for 8 years and is fine.
