Explain how a reed switch flow meter works?

Post by Tamara »

The dishwasher SKS40E02EU/01, after (careful!) transportation, drains the old stuff, starts pouring, turns the rocker arms a couple of times during the fill, goes to the “faucet” error and starts an emergency drain. Everything was checked, cleaned and washed, right down to the circuit board and disassembling the compass. Everything is in good order, without any traces of leaks or burnt contacts. The result is the same: "faucet" and drain. Only one suspicion was found: the reed switch of the flow meter sometimes rings, sometimes it doesn’t. It is not clear where the magnet that closes the reed switch contacts is located.
Please explain how a reed switch flow meter works in a dishwasher? Why does the impeller rotate, where and how does it transmit the signal about its rotation? Where is the magnet that closes the reed switch to stop the flooding of water? What signal is coming through the wires from the flow meter and where does it go? How can I make sure that this unit is working properly or is not working properly? I’m looking forward to hearing from the experts.
