Dear dishwasher owners! We are trying to collect here as much useful information as possible about dishwashers, so if you have something to say, say it. :-) (even without registration)
Alena, of course, you can’t. The fact is that tablets and powders contain certain ingredients that can react with silver. As a result, black spots may appear on the silverware. Wash by hand.

Silver tarnishes like aluminum, but I wash silver spoons. You can clean them with a melamine sponge; if you haven’t heard, it’s a finely dispersed white sponge, disposable. When you clean it, it wears out and crumbles, but it perfectly washes away difficult-to-clean dirt. When you clean the spoons, the dull coating goes away and they shine again. I haven’t tried cleaning aluminum, maybe that will help too.
